In its original form, this page explained why I sometimes wrote in Spanish, and sometimes in English. I don't do the bilingual thing as often as I once did, though you'll see it now and again. Even now, there are some things that simply work better in Spanish.

I learned to speak Spanish when I lived in Quito, Ecuador for a year. When I came back, I still spoke Spanish daily - both at work and with my then-boyfriend. With time, I moved on from both the job and the boy. I know that both were good decisions, because I miss the language more than the work and the relationship.

I live on the Upper West Side of New York City, a place where Spanish is plenty. My favorite music is in Spanish, and my radio is set to La Mega. I'm studying international affairs in graduate school, and that presents quite a few opportunities as well.

My exposure to the language isn't as intense as it once was, but I love it just the same.

En su forma original, esta página explicaba porque a veces escribía en ingles, y a veces en español. No escribo en español tanto como antes, aunque lo verás de vez en cuando. Aún ahora, hay cosas que simplemente funcionan major en español.

Aprendí hablar español cuando vivía en Quito, Ecuador un año. Cuando regresé a los Estados Unidos, siguía hablando español todos los dias en mi trabajo y con mi novio. Con tiempo, dejé el trabajo y la relacción se acabó. Yo sé que las dos decisiones fueron buenas porque yo extraño más al idioma que al trabajo o a la relacción.
